Bere Forest Club History
Bere Forest has been around for many years and
has won a large number of competitions around the world, Bere
Forest orginally used to represent Great Britain before the
current structure was put in place.
The name of the club came from the orginator of
the club come from a place called the Forest of Bere, this is
how the team got its name.
Bere Forest canoe polo team has always been succesful
and been at the top of Divison 1 as well as taking part in all
Local and National competitions. Also many players represented
Great Britain and also coaching and captaining the Great Britain
Team to success.
A few years ago Bere Forest strugggled to keep
a team together who would train with one another and also developing
younger players through the ranks. Due to this Bere Forest withdrew
their position from Divsion 1, after all those years playing
at the top.
Bere Forest was close to collapsing, but with
one last push from current players a new format was decided
and worked on in encouraging the youth of today to start canoe
polo. This was then the start of Bere Forest Youth Team.
After a period of time players then became more
experienced and older then began to want to play in the Mens
League. This then meant for the team to start from the bottom
climbing the ladder once again and aiming for the top.You always
have to have a goal to achieve a goal!
